Nifty rises for fourth session, but weak GIFT Nifty signals lower open

India’s Nifty rose for a fourth straight session, gaining 1.58% on Tuesday to close at 23,810.85, its highest close since August.

The Sensex also advanced, as falling crude prices, company earnings and foreign investor buying supported the market.

The rally followed a sharp recovery, and analysts say shares may now pause while retaining a positive bias.

A weaker GIFT Nifty reading signalled a lower opening for Indian shares on Wednesday.

Analysts identify 23,600 as near-term support and 24,000 as a key hurdle for the Nifty.

Investors are watching US midterm election results, while several Indian companies are due to report earnings on Wednesday.

Further gains may depend on continued foreign buying and broader market participation.
