Yongsan redevelopment plan raises Sanho Apartments to 47 floors

Yongsan District in Seoul has proposed a revised plan to rebuild Sanho Apartments beside the Han River.

The complex was completed in 1977, and an earlier redevelopment plan called for up to 35 floors and 647 homes.

The new plan raises the maximum height to 47 floors and the total to 666 homes, including 100 public housing units.

The change is intended to follow Seoul’s 2040 city planning guidelines and revise the development’s design.

Residents can comment on the plan from October 23 to November 23, and the district will hold a public briefing on October 28.

The redevelopment association already received approval for its implementation plan in 2024 and approval of its management and disposition plan in August.

It plans to seek an integrated review across six areas, while also moving ahead with relocation and demolition procedures.
