Heilongjiang’s contracted power exports exceed 20 billion kWh

By Nov.

1, Heilongjiang had contracted to export over 20 billion kWh of electricity in 2026, a record for the northeastern Chinese province.

The contracts included 13.711 billion kWh of clean power, also a record.

Heilongjiang’s electricity exports now reach 20 provinces and regions across six parts of China.

The province has strong potential for wind and solar power and is a major clean-energy base in northern China.

The region expects wind and solar capacity to make up more than 65% of its total installed power capacity by 2030.

To connect more renewable energy to the grid, the province is building power-grid projects, including dedicated 500-kilovolt facilities.

During China’s 2026–2030 planning period, the grid company plans to advance major transmission projects and add capacity to connect nearly 30 million kilowatts of renewable energy.
