Indonesia’s OJK Says Parties in Three Stock Cases Paid Rp2.1 Trillion
Indonesia’s financial regulator says related parties paid Rp2.1 trillion in fines over violations involving shares of DSSA, BREN and CUAN.
The regulator, OJK, said the money was paid into state funds, but clarified that the three listed companies themselves did not pay it.
In the DSSA case, investigators found planned share trading that pushed the stock price up significantly.
For BREN and CUAN, OJK found that people linked to company controllers concealed their identities when ordering shares and received large allocations.
Those allocations concentrated shares in a small group, leaving fewer shares available on the market.
The fines were Rp1.5 trillion in the DSSA case, Rp500 billion for BREN and Rp100 billion for CUAN.
OJK says it will continue market reforms and communicate with global investors to build confidence in Indonesia’s stock market.
Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) said it received Rp2.1 trillion in administrative fines related to stock-market cases involving DSSA, BREN and CUAN.
OJK chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi said the fines were paid by parties linked to the companies, not by the companies themselves.
The penalties comprised Rp1.5 trillion related to DSSA, Rp500 billion related to BREN and Rp100 billion related to CUAN.
OJK said it found planned and structured manipulation of DSSA shares and misleading information about orders for BREN and CUAN shares.
The authority also said it had summoned other suspected parties, including directors of securities firms, individuals and foreign legal entities.
