Glenn Jacobs reported to be favorite for Tennessee Senate appointment
Glenn Jacobs, known to wrestling fans as Kane, is reported to be the favorite for a US Senate appointment in Tennessee.
The seat will become vacant when Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn becomes governor in January 2027.
Blackburn will choose her replacement, and Congressman Tim Burchett is also seeking the appointment.
Jacobs is a Republican and a former Knox County mayor who completed two terms before leaving office in September.
The appointment would last until 2028, when the person chosen would need to win a special election to continue in the role.
Jacobs’ WWE fame is cited as helping him connect with different kinds of voters, but the appointment has not yet been made.
