Chatham County records 63,766 early votes in Georgia midterms

Chatham County, Georgia, recorded 63,766 early votes in the midterm election, according to unofficial totals.

The county processed 7,201 votes on October 30, the final day of early voting.

The county totals came as Georgia set a midterm early-voting record, with more than 2.8 million ballots cast before early voting ended.

That statewide total was about 13% higher than the record set in the 2022 midterm election.

The early-voting numbers do not show how people voted or predict the election result.

Voters were due to choose candidates for the U.S. Senate, governor and other state and legislative offices.

The next step was Election Day on Tuesday, when voters could cast ballots in person and absentee ballots had to reach county election offices by 7 p.m.
