Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update fixes Switch 2 gameplay issues

Nintendo released version 4.0.1 for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on October 14.

The update affects Nintendo’s racing game on Switch and addresses problems reported when playing on Nintendo Switch 2.

In online and local wireless play, Switch 2 had shown more course obstacles and item boxes than the original Switch.

The update also fixes an issue that could prevent two players from choosing registered users, missing star pieces on Wii Rainbow Road, and crashes under certain conditions.

These fixes aim to make play more consistent across the two consoles.

Online matches require the latest update, and players on the new version cannot use local wireless or LAN play with people using an older version.

Players can download the update, but the sources give no further update plans.
