Top-20 recruit Ahmed Nur commits to Ole Miss

Ahmed Nur, a 6-foot-8 forward from Minnesota who attends high school in Arizona, has committed to play basketball at Ole Miss.

He chose coach Chris Beard’s program over Florida State, SMU and Syracuse.

Nur is ranked No.

19 among players in the 2027 class.

Ole Miss has not had a recruit ranked this highly in at least 20 years, and he is its first commitment in the 2027 class.

Nur said Ole Miss was the best fit for his playing style and that Beard had made him a priority.

He averaged 13.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.

He said he and Beard discussed player development and preparation for the next level.
