Police seek witnesses after two-car crash at Niederuzwil junction

Two cars collided at the Augarten junction in Niederuzwil on the afternoon of October 19, 2026.

A 34-year-old driver was heading from the motorway exit toward Uzwil, while a 38-year-old driver approached from Niederuzwil.

Both drivers give different accounts of who had the right of way, and the police have not established which signal was showing green.

No one was injured, but the cars sustained damage worth several thousand francs.

The disagreement matters because the traffic light’s signal could help clarify how the crash happened.

St. Gallen cantonal police are asking witnesses, especially anyone who saw the traffic light, to call the Oberbüren police station at 058 229 81 00.
