Late personal foul call helps Cardinals beat Rams 18-16

Arizona beat the Los Angeles Rams 18-16 when kicker Chad Ryland made a 43-yard field goal as time expired.

The kick followed a personal foul called on Rams cornerback Josh Wallace after Cardinals receiver Jalen Brooks caught a 21-yard pass and fell on Wallace’s shoulder.

The penalty moved Arizona 36 yards downfield at the start of its final drive, putting the team at the Rams’ 29-yard line with 41 seconds left.

Rules analyst Mike Pereira said he did not think the contact was enough to warrant a penalty and said replay could have overturned the call.

The disputed call helped set up the winning kick, Ryland’s sixth field goal of the day.

Arizona was a 12.5-point underdog, and the win was its first against an NFC West opponent since the 2024 season.

The Rams fell to 2-4 and are set to visit the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.
