Demián Bichir presents Angelina Jolie’s Sin sangre at Morelia film festival

Demián Bichir presented Sin sangre at its Mexican premiere during the Morelia International Film Festival in Morelia, Mexico.

Angelina Jolie directed the film, which also stars Salma Hayek, and Bichir attended its premiere on Friday.

The story is adapted from Alessandro Baricco’s novel and follows Nina, a war survivor whose past wounds return years later as she seeks revenge.

It is the third film in which Bichir and Hayek have appeared together, after El callejón de los milagros and Savages.

Bichir said the film shows how people can find redemption through forgiveness, while young actor Patricio José described it as an anti-war story meant to prompt reflection.

The premiere marked one of the festival’s closing events, following the film’s screening at other major festivals, including Toronto; no further plans were stated.
