One UI 9 reaches Galaxy S24, but several newer features are missing
Samsung began rolling out One UI 9 to the Galaxy S24 series in October.
The update brings features from newer Galaxy phones, including Call Brief and custom Now Brief cards.
But the S24 is missing several features available on the S25 and S26, and Samsung has not clearly explained why.
These include AI summaries of notifications, a mode that lets the phone work as a USB webcam, and video recording that keeps the horizon level as the phone turns.
The S24 Ultra can already take 24-megapixel photos, but the feature is available through a different app rather than the Camera app.
The missing tools matter because they could make everyday tasks, such as sorting alerts and recording video, easier.
The rollout is underway, but the information available does not say whether Samsung will add the missing features later.
Samsung began rolling out One UI 9 to the Galaxy S24 series in October 2026.
The update brought some features from the Galaxy S26, including Call Brief, custom Now Brief cards and My FanCam.
The Galaxy S24 did not receive several features available on the Galaxy S25 and S26, including notification highlights, USB webcam mode and Horizontal Lock.
Android Police said there was no clear explanation for the omissions and argued that hardware did not appear to be the obstacle.
