Kuniko reports high-grade gold and silver results in NSW exploration project
The Lachlan Fold Belt in New South Wales is drawing renewed interest from mining companies seeking copper and gold.
The region has major operating mines, but large areas remain unexplored beneath younger rock layers.
Kuniko has reported promising drilling results from its Commonwealth-Silica Hill project, about 100 kilometres north of Orange.
In one hole, it found half a metre grading 27 grams of gold and 20,603 grams of silver per tonne.
Another hole contained eight metres grading 3.3 grams of gold and 186 grams of silver per tonne, as well as zinc.
Kuniko secured majority ownership of the project from its joint venture partner, Impact Minerals, after completing two drilling campaigns.
Further exploration could test whether the different mineralisation styles are part of a larger system, but the available information does not say when more drilling will take place.
Kuniko Limited reported high-grade gold and silver results from its Commonwealth-Silica Hill project in New South Wales.
A half-metre interval returned 27 grams per tonne of gold and 20,603 grams per tonne of silver.
Another drill hole returned eight metres at 3.3 grams per tonne of gold, 186 grams per tonne of silver and 5.6 per cent zinc.
The project is about 100 kilometres north of Orange in the Lachlan Fold Belt.
Kuniko completed two diamond-drilling campaigns over 12 months and secured majority ownership of the project from joint venture partner Impact Minerals.
