Dongshan conference signs projects to expand its marine economy
Dongshan County in Fujian held a three-day marine economy conference starting October 15, bringing together more than 200 guests.
The event aimed to attract investment and strengthen the county’s seafood and marine industries.
The projects cover seafood sales, industrial investment, finance, research and talent, including work on fish breeding and seed protection.
The conference said Dongshan already has a marine industry chain spanning breeding, fishing, cold storage, processing, equipment and technical services.
The signed projects include 14 seafood trade deals worth 2.4 billion yuan and 29 industrial investment projects with more than 3.7 billion yuan in planned investment.
The organizers want signed projects to move into construction and production, and to help turn seafood orders into sales and income.
The three-day program also includes a marine economy discussion, a seafood banquet and product displays.
