Park Hoon-jung’s ‘Tristes Tropiques’ sells to North America and Europe
Park Hoon-jung’s film ‘Tristes Tropiques’ has secured new international distribution deals.
Well Go USA acquired North American rights, while distributors also picked up rights for French-speaking territories, Spain and Andorra, Italy, and Taiwan.
The deals add to sales in several other markets, including Germany, Poland, India, Indonesia and Mongolia.
The film follows young assassins trained by a powerful leader in a tropical rainforest.
After the leader is found dead, the assassins begin to distrust one another as they try to understand what happened.
The cast includes Lee Sin-young, Park Yu-rim, Kim Myung-min and Park Hae-soo, alongside Taiwanese actors.
The film is due to open in South Korea on Nov.
25, and has also won awards at genre festivals in Brussels and Paris.
