Sant Andreu fans face racist abuse and assaults at Rayo Majadahonda match

About 50 UE Sant Andreu fans travelled to Majadahonda, near Madrid, for a match against local side Rayo Majadahonda.

A group of local extremists targeted some supporters around the game, throwing beer cans and using racist and anti-Catalan insults.

One Black fan was subjected to racist abuse, and another supporter was punched and had his sweatshirt stolen.

Spain's Civil Guard escorted the fans and a local journalist after they were intimidated.

Sant Andreu condemned the physical and verbal attacks and expressed support for those affected.

The match ended in a 2-1 defeat for Sant Andreu, which had gone four games without a win; no further action was reported.
