Burnley appoint Fabio Celestini as head coach after Hayen's departure

Burnley have appointed Fabio Celestini as head coach four days after sacking Nicky Hayen.

The English club are back in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League.

They have won just once in 12 league games and sit 22nd in the table.

Celestini most recently managed CSKA Moscow and previously led Basel to a league and cup double.

Burnley hope his experience can help improve their form and meet supporters’ ambitions.

His first match in charge is the home league game against Portsmouth on Saturday.
