Guangxi Seeks More Foreign Investment at China Import Expo

At the ninth China International Import Expo in Shanghai, Guangxi invited overseas businesses to invest in the region.

Guangxi presented products from 47 companies and showcased the Pinglu Canal, which is expected to create a new route for goods entering China.

The region is promoting the canal and its links to Southeast Asia as ways to reach markets in southwest China and ASEAN.

Business representatives from Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, the United States and France discussed possible trade, logistics and industrial projects.

Guangxi also wants foreign companies to help develop industries including metals, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles and batteries.

Companies are considering visits and projects in Guangxi, while the region says it hopes to build stronger trade and investment ties with global partners.
