China plans to raise farm produce quality by 2030

China’s agriculture ministry has issued a plan to improve farm produce quality by 2030.

It aims to make food safer and healthier and to expand production of green, organic and other quality-certified products.

The plan calls for stronger standards, greener farming methods and quality checks from production through sale.

China aims to keep the pass rate in routine food-safety checks above 98% and reach 130,000 green, organic, specialty and geographically identified products.

The plan also targets stricter monitoring and better quality grading based on market demand.

It includes investment in research, farm technology and international cooperation on standards.

The ministry says it will set out detailed actions and targets, strengthen oversight and provide funding to put the plan into effect.
