Aroa Biosurgery expands US hospital reach through four purchasing group deals

Aroa Biosurgery is expanding sales of its soft tissue products in the United States, the world’s largest healthcare market.

The New Zealand company makes products used to support soft tissue regeneration.

It has agreements with all four major US hospital purchasing groups, known as Group Purchasing Organisations, or GPOs.

These groups negotiate purchasing terms for hospitals, and Aroa’s agreements cover up to 95% of US hospitals.

Aroa is using clinical evidence and lower-cost options to encourage hospitals to adopt its products, alongside its sales team’s relationships with healthcare providers.

Direct sales now make up 59% of the company’s business, and its US sales team has grown from around 10 people to more than 50.

The company is building on these partnerships and its clinical evidence to grow in the US market.
