Taihan Cable wins US high-voltage grid project

Taihan Cable’s US subsidiary won a turnkey power grid project in the United States, the South Korean company said.

The subsidiary, T.E.USA, will oversee local engineering and construction, while Taihan Cable’s headquarters will make and supply high-voltage cables and related equipment.

The parent company signed a 120 billion won supply deal with its US subsidiary for those materials.

The overall project price and the customer’s identity were not disclosed because of a confidentiality agreement.

The project adds to Taihan’s US grid business, where it also won a 100 billion won turnkey contract in January and secured other high-voltage cable work.

US investment in new and replacement power lines is growing as electricity demand rises, including from AI businesses and data centers.

Taihan plans to pursue more US projects, including orders for high-value direct-current and undersea cables.
