iPhone Duo buyers face average 89-day wait as Apple struggles to meet demand

Apple’s new foldable iPhone Duo is in short supply, and the company has not said when deliveries will catch up with demand.

UBS data showed buyers faced an average wait of 89 days as of October 30, about a week shorter than the previous week.

The phone went on sale on October 16, and pre-order delivery estimates moved to late January within minutes.

Bloomberg reported that Apple set aside about 80% of its initial stock for retail stores, where some locations had as few as 50 units.

The shorter waits do not show whether demand has eased or supply has improved, UBS said.

Apple is also dealing with higher memory-chip costs as demand for chips from the AI industry rises, adding pressure on hardware makers.

Apple says the timing of improved availability is hard to predict, while it says it is working to get phones to customers as quickly as possible.
