D&D’s World of Warcraft book adds a playable Illidan build
A new Dungeons & Dragons supplement brings World of Warcraft into the game with character options based on the online game.
It adds Night Elves as a playable species and a new Demon Hunter class built on the Ranger class.
One suggested build uses those rules to make a character inspired by Illidan Stormrage, Warcraft’s famous Demon Hunter.
The supplement also adapts other Warcraft classes and adds spells, subclasses and character traits.
A review says some options are detailed and useful, while others rely on rules already in the Player’s Handbook.
The reviewer also says some new abilities may be uneven in quality and power, including a spell judged too strong.
Players can use the book’s rules to bring Warcraft-inspired characters into a D&D campaign.
The World of Warcraft crossover book for Dungeons & Dragons adds new character options but also directs players to existing Player’s Handbook rules.
PC Gamer’s review says the supplement is inconsistent, with some classes receiving substantial changes and others getting little new material.
The book introduces a playable Night Elf lineage and a Demon Hunter class based on the Ranger.
Screen Rant describes how players can build a character inspired by Illidan Stormrage using the new options.
PC Gamer also criticizes the balance of the Divine Shield spell and the way the book adapts Shamans.

What people are saying
This sourcebook is inconsistent—filled with very cool character options in some places, and just pointing at the already-existing player's handbook in others.
I'm sad to say I'm feeling just a touch whelmed.
This thing is straight busted.
