Ocarina of Time runs on PC through new tools, with glitches remaining
The Switch 2 version of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is running on PCs just days after its November 5 release.
The game is being played through Switch 2 emulators, while a new tool called Hookshot recompiles the game to run natively on Windows.
Hookshot also offers upscaling, ultrawide support and frame generation, which can create extra frames to make play look smoother.
Performance is still imperfect, with graphical glitches and other problems, although reports say Hookshot runs more smoothly than current emulators.
One test cited by Hookshot’s developer reached about 50 frames per second without frame generation on a high-end PC.
A separate video shows DLSS 5 applied through an emulator, while the game has also been demonstrated on Mac using Nxnative.
