South Korea to release third-quarter growth and September industry data
The Bank of Korea will publish third-quarter growth data on Oct.
27, covering South Korea’s economy.
Growth rose 1.8% in the first quarter and 0.6% in the second, after a 0.1% contraction in the previous quarter.
The central bank forecast 0.3% growth in the third quarter, but strong semiconductor exports could lift the actual figure above that estimate.
On Oct.
30, the national statistics agency will release September industry data, after production fell in July and August.
In August, retail sales and equipment investment also declined, making the new figures important for judging whether the weakness was temporary.
The Bank of Korea governor said the data will inform a November rate decision, alongside October inflation figures.
The Bank of Korea is due to release its preliminary third-quarter GDP growth figure on October 27.
The National Data agency is scheduled to publish September industrial activity data on October 30.
The Bank of Korea had forecast third-quarter growth of 0.3% from the previous quarter.
Growth could exceed that forecast, with strong semiconductor exports cited as a factor.
The releases will provide new data on the economy as officials assess its performance and monetary policy.
