Shraddha Kapoor says Eetha is about the story, not box-office records

Shraddha Kapoor stars in Eetha, a biographical musical directed by Laxman Utekar.

The film is inspired by Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a celebrated performer of Maharashtra’s Tamasha folk tradition.

Tamasha combines music, dance and storytelling, while Lavani is a traditional dance form also featured in the film.

Eetha explores the struggles of artists as it tells Vithabai’s story and depicts the world of folk performance.

At the trailer launch in Mumbai, Kapoor said a good story matters more to her than box-office records.

Eetha is scheduled to reach cinemas on December 4, 2026.
