Agility Robotics to become first US humanoid-focused public company
Agility Robotics is going public through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, a special-purpose acquisition company.
The Oregon company is expected to begin trading on Nasdaq on Thursday as the first US public company focused on humanoid robots.
Its two-legged Digit robots carry materials and sort goods in factories and warehouses, and are already operating at nine customer facilities, including sites belonging to Amazon and Toyota.
The company reported $1.8 million in revenue and a $138.1 million net loss last year, showing that humanoid robots have not yet become a profitable business for it.
Agility says it has more than $300 million in orders for 1,000 robots from one customer, but fulfilling them depends on meeting deadlines and delivering promised features.
Its newest robot, Digit 5, is designed to work safely near people without the barriers required for earlier versions.
Agility is targeting deliveries in the first half of 2027 and general availability by the end of that year, while warning investors that losses and expenses are likely to continue.
