Missing man's dog returns alive after nearly three weeks in Cáceres

A German shepherd returned alive to her hostal in Losar de la Vera, Cáceres, on Friday, more than two weeks after she disappeared with a 68-year-old man.

Salvador, also known as Salva, was last seen on September 28 while walking the dog, Tronki, near the village.

The Guardia Civil is still searching for Salvador, after intensive ground searches ended on October 7 but local patrols continued checking the area.

The dog returned on her own from the area where the pair were last seen, but it is not known where she had been or how she survived.

Her return gives investigators new evidence that may help them reconstruct the pair’s movements.

Officers are expected to examine the dog for clues, while any new searches will depend on what investigators learn.
