Clase Azul launches a €2,000 limited-edition tequila for Day of the Dead

Clase Azul México has launched Trascender, a limited-edition tequila made for Day of the Dead 2026.

The new bottle costs €2,000 and is available in selected shops in Madrid and Barcelona.

The tequila blends two añejos, each aged for more than 30 months, with one finished in barrels previously used in champagne fermentation.

The release continues a tradition that Clase Azul has followed for nearly a decade to mark the Mexican holiday.

A bottle from its 2017 edition sold for about $35,000 at Sotheby’s in New York on June 26, setting a record for the most expensive tequila sold at auction.

The bottle for Trascender is handmade and decorated with painted cempasúchil flowers and 24-karat gold, drawing on Day of the Dead symbolism.

Spain is Clase Azul’s second-largest market after the United States, and the company says the tequila should be sipped slowly to appreciate its aromas and body.
