Turkey’s BIST 100 rises 0.56% to close at 11,023.55
Turkey’s BIST 100 index rose 0.56% on Monday, closing at 11,023.55 points.
The index started the day lower but broad buying lifted the market, despite investors selling bank shares.
Banking stocks fell 1.27%, while the paper, forestry and printing sector gained the most, up 4.95%.
The rise came as global markets were mixed amid uncertainty over US midterm elections and worries about technology companies’ profits, while lower oil prices supported European and US shares.
The BIST 100’s close leaves it below the 11,200- and 11,300-point levels analysts identified as resistance, with 10,900 and 10,700 as support.
Investors are watching economic data due Tuesday, including Turkey’s real effective exchange rate and US private-sector jobs and trade figures.
