Democrats plan renewed scrutiny of Andrew's Epstein ties and files for UK police

After winning the US midterm elections, Democrats plan to renew scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has ignored a request from the House Oversight Committee to testify, and committee member Suhas Subramanyam said lawmakers would seek information in other ways.

The committee cannot force Andrew to testify because he is a foreign national.

In 2022, Andrew paid a reported £12 million to Virginia Giuffre, who said Epstein trafficked her to have sex with Andrew when she was 17; Andrew denies wrongdoing.

Democrats also want the Justice Department to give British police unredacted Epstein files.

Scotland Yard needs the files to continue its stalled investigation into Lord Mandelson, a former British ambassador to the US.

If the Justice Department refuses, lawmakers say they will seek information elsewhere.
