Teardown finds no upgraded screen in revised Switch 2

A teardown of Nintendo’s revised European Switch 2 found no Sharp screen in the handheld.

The updated model has a battery compartment that makes battery replacement easier, in line with EU right-to-repair rules.

Its motherboard uses the same Nvidia processor as the existing version, and the console still has 12 GB of RAM.

The screen remains an LCD made by Innolux, and games can show smearing and ghosting because of slow pixel response times.

A faster Sharp LCD had surfaced for sale, raising hopes that Nintendo would improve the display, but the teardown did not find that screen.

It is unclear when Nintendo might use the Sharp part, while signs suggest the revised console could reach other regions.
