FSB says it stopped planned drone attack on Voronezh military airfield
Russia’s FSB says it stopped a planned drone attack on the Baltimore military airfield in Voronezh.
The agency accuses Ukraine’s Security Service of planning the attack and says it recruited a Russian woman while she was in Ukraine in 2022.
The woman was detained and placed in custody, according to the FSB.
The agency says she rented a garage in Voronezh to assemble and launch short-range drones.
Investigators say they found nine drone kits with explosives, each containing about 500 grams of explosive material.
The FSB says the intended targets included the airfield’s infrastructure, aircraft and personnel.
The agency is still investigating the alleged plot and possible other participants.
